PhD Opportunities in Plasma Technology at PlasMars Research Group

The PlasMars Group is inviting applications for PhD students to join our pioneering research on plasma technology, specifically focused on CO2 decomposition for oxygen production in Mars' environment.

Research Focus:

1. Investigating the mechanisms of CO2 decomposition in Mars-like conditions using non-thermal plasma technology for in-situ oxygen production.

2. Developing a prototype system based on plasma technology to enable efficient CO2 reduction and oxygen generation for Mars exploration.

Scholarships and Benefits:

1. Full scholarship for a 3-4 year program, with an annual stipend of at least HK$ 225,000.

2. HK$ 20,000 international conference travel subsidy per year, with additional funding for visits to top global institutions (6 months or longer).

Eligibility Requirements:

1. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.

2. Strong experimental or modeling experience in plasma research. Prior publication in SCI journals is preferred.

3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

4. English proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 80 (minimum).
